Why that is the answer
When following a large vehicle, you need a larger gap to see the road ahead clearly and stop safely. If another vehicle pulls into this space, ease off the accelerator and drop back to restore a safe separation distance. Sounding your horn or flashing your lights out of frustration is incorrect, as these should only be used to warn others of your presence.
