Why that is the answer
When a bus pulls up at a stop, passengers getting off may step into the road from behind or in front of it where you cannot see them. Others might rush across the road to catch it. The Highway Code advises extra care here, so your biggest concern must be looking for pedestrians. Accelerating past quickly or pulling up too close reduces your vision and reaction time, creating a severe hazard.
How this comes up in the real test
