Not passing first time happens to plenty of learners, and it is rarely down to a lack of effort. Nerves, an unfamiliar test centre, or simply running out of revision time before the date can all play a part. What matters is what happens next, and that is where the resit included in Full Membership comes in.
We built this without a minimum mark requirement on purpose. Plenty of services only cover you for a resit if you narrowly missed the pass mark, which feels a bit like being penalised twice if your test genuinely went badly. With us, however your attempt goes, the included resit still applies.
What's included with the resit
If you're a Full Member and you do not pass your theory test, we will book your resit for you as part of your existing membership, at no extra charge for the resit itself. Bear in mind the DVSA's own £23 test fee still applies each time you sit the test, since that goes to the DVSA and covers the cost of running the test, not us.
You keep full access to the Theory Learning Hub in the meantime, so you can go back through the material, focus on the areas where you lost marks, and use our mock tests to check you are ready before the new date arrives.
No minimum mark, genuinely
There is no small print here about how close you needed to be. Whether you scored 40 out of 50 or well below that, or struggled on hazard perception rather than the multiple-choice, the resit is included the same way. We think that is the fairer approach, since a fail is a fail regardless of the margin, and the point of membership is to get you to a pass, not to reward a near miss.

Making your resit count
Before your resit, it is worth being specific about what went wrong rather than just repeating the same revision. If hazard perception let you down, spend more time on realistic mock clips rather than the multiple-choice question bank. If nerves were the issue on the day, a few full-length mock tests under timed conditions in the Learning Hub can help the real thing feel less unfamiliar.

Is there really no minimum score needed for the resit?
That's right. Whatever mark you got on either section, the resit included with Full Membership still applies. We do not check how close you were to passing before booking it.
Does the resit cost anything extra?
The resit booking itself is included in your membership at no extra charge. You will still need to cover the DVSA's own £23 test fee each time, since that is set and collected by the DVSA rather than us.
How many resits are included?
One resit is included with Full Membership. If you need a further resit after that, get in touch and we will talk through the options, but the vast majority of members pass on either their first or second attempt.
Do I lose my Learning Hub access after a fail?
No, your access continues for the length of your membership, so you can keep revising right up to your resit date without needing to sign up again or pay anything further for the material itself.
Can I get an earlier resit date?
Yes, the cancellation checker included with Full Membership continues running for your resit too, watching for earlier slots at the centres you choose and texting you the moment one appears.
What if I fail the resit as well?
Contact us and we will talk through your options honestly, including whether more revision time before booking again would help. A theory pass is valid for two years once you get there, so there is no rush that outweighs being properly ready.
