Why that is the answer
Long vehicles often need extra space to negotiate tight turns at junctions. To turn left safely, the driver may first swing out to the right so the rear wheels clear the kerb. Stay well back and give them plenty of room. Never attempt to overtake or assume the driver has signalled incorrectly, as the vehicle will sweep back across the road to complete its turn.
