Why that is the answer
When towing a trailer on a motorway with three or more lanes, you must not use the right-hand lane. According to the Highway Code, this keeps the outside lane clear for faster traffic. You can still overtake using lane two. The motorway speed limit when towing is 60 mph rather than 50 mph, and while fitting a stabiliser helps, it is not legally mandatory.
How this comes up in the real test
