Why that is the answer
Carrying heavy loads or towing adds significant extra weight to your vehicle, putting additional strain on the tyres. Increasing the tyre pressure, as advised in your vehicle handbook, compensates for this extra weight and helps maintain safe handling, stability, and braking performance. Changing tyre pressures will not improve worn tread or compensate for slippery road conditions, while anti-lock braking systems operate independently of tyre inflation levels.
