Why that is the answer
As you approach a zebra crossing, look out for pedestrians waiting to cross and be ready to slow down or stop. Under Highway Code rules, you should give way to people waiting at the crossing. Never accelerate to beat them or ignore them. Stopping before the zigzag lines is incorrect because you must pull up at the give way line at the crossing itself.
How this comes up in the real test
