Why that is the answer
The Highway Code states that you must not park within 10 metres of a junction, unless in an authorised parking space. Parking closer than 10 metres severely restricts visibility for drivers emerging from or turning into the junction. It also makes it difficult for pedestrians to cross safely near the corner. Keeping this distance clear ensures everyone has a better view of potential hazards.
