    Cancellation policy

Instructor time is booked out in blocks, so notice matters. Here is exactly what happens when a lesson, a course or a test needs to move.

    Last updated 4 August 2026

    1. Cancelling or moving individual lessons

    • More than 48 hours' notice: rescheduled free of charge, subject to instructor availability.
    • 24 to 48 hours' notice: rescheduled where we can, otherwise charged at 50% of the session.
    • Less than 24 hours' notice, or not turning up: charged in full, because the slot cannot be resold.
    • Genuine emergencies, illness with reasonable evidence and bereavement are handled case by case — tell us as soon as you can and we will be fair about it.

    2. Cancelling a whole course

Course cancellations are refunded on the sliding scale set out in our refund policy. Tell us in writing as early as you can: the earlier the notice, the more of your money comes back.

    3. Pausing instead of cancelling

If life gets in the way, you can pause a course rather than cancel it. Unused hours are held for 12 months from your original start date and can be resumed with the same instructor where possible, at no extra cost.

    4. When your instructor cancels

Instructors are people with cars, so illness and breakdowns happen. Where a booked session is cancelled by us or your instructor, we reschedule it at no cost, or refund those hours if we cannot rearrange within a reasonable period. You are never charged for a session we could not deliver.

    5. Weather, DVSA changes and cancelled tests

If the DVSA cancels your practical test for weather or operational reasons, it rebooks the test and refunds or transfers the fee under its own rules. We move your remaining hours to fit the new date at no charge.

Lessons are only cancelled for weather when conditions are genuinely unsafe. That decision rests with your instructor, and a weather cancellation is always rescheduled free.

    6. How to cancel

Cancel or move a lesson directly with your instructor and confirm it by emailing info@fasttrackdrivinglessons.co.uk so it is on the record. Course-level cancellations must come to us by email — a message to your instructor alone does not cancel a course.
