Why that is the answer
Green reflective studs indicate where slip roads leave and join the main motorway carriageway, as well as entrances to laybys and service areas. They help drivers identify junctions in poor visibility or at night. Red studs mark the left edge of the carriageway next to the hard shoulder, while amber studs border the central reservation on the right.
