Why that is the answer
If a police officer behind you flashes their headlights and gestures left, they are directing you to pull over. Indicate and pull up on the left as soon as it is safe to do so. Stopping abruptly without finding a suitable location could cause a collision, and turning at the next junction misinterprets the signal to stop. Under the Highway Code, you must legally obey signals given by police officers.
How this comes up in the real test
