Why that is the answer
When turning right on a two-lane one-way street, position your vehicle in the right-hand lane as early as it is safe to do so. The Highway Code advises using the right-hand lane for right turns to keep traffic flowing smoothly and avoid blocking drivers who are turning left or going straight ahead. Turning right from the left-hand lane cuts across other vehicles, creating a serious hazard.
