Positioning your vehicle correctly in good time clearly communicates your intentions to everyone around you. It helps drivers behind, oncoming traffic, and pedestrians anticipate your turn so they can react safely. You should never encourage vehicles to pass you on the right, as this is dangerous. Moving over early also allows following traffic to pass safely on your left if space permits, following Highway Code guidance.
