Pedestrians are vulnerable road users, and the Highway Code states you must give way to those crossing or waiting to cross a side road. Wait patiently until they have safely crossed and the area is clear before starting your manoeuvre. You should never wave at pedestrians or sound your horn to push past, as this can confuse them and create a dangerous situation.
