Why that is the answer
Pedestrians already on a crossing have priority, regardless of what the traffic lights show. A green signal means you may proceed only if the road is clear. You must remain patient and wait until the person has safely reached the pavement. Using your horn or revving your engine can intimidate or startle them, creating a hazard. The Highway Code stresses the importance of giving vulnerable road users extra time and consideration.
