Why that is the answer
When parking on a road in fog, you must leave your parking lights on so other road users can clearly see your stationary vehicle. The Highway Code requires this to prevent collisions in reduced visibility. You should not leave dipped headlights or fog lights on when parked, as these will quickly drain your vehicle battery and cause unnecessary glare for approaching drivers.
