Why that is the answer
If a driver tailgates or flashes their headlights, stay calm and allow them to overtake safely. You can ease off the accelerator to increase the gap in front, giving them more room to pass. Never brake-test them, obstruct their path, or break the speed limit to get away, as reacting aggressively increases the risk of a collision. The Highway Code advises keeping your distance and allowing impatient drivers to pass.
