School Keep Clear markings outside schools are designed to keep the view unobstructed for everyone. Parking or stopping on these yellow zig-zag lines, even briefly to drop off or pick up children, creates a dangerous hazard. Leaving the area clear ensures that children can see oncoming traffic clearly and drivers can easily spot children waiting to cross. The Highway Code prohibits stopping here to keep these vulnerable road users safe.
