Why that is the answer
Vehicles towing a trailer are prohibited from using the right-hand lane on a motorway with three or more lanes. The Highway Code sets this rule to keep traffic moving smoothly, as towing vehicles are restricted to a lower speed limit of 60 mph. Other road users, including delivery vans and motorcycles, are allowed to use the right-hand lane for overtaking, provided they follow the relevant speed limits for their vehicle type.
