Why that is the answer
Cyclists are vulnerable road users who need extra space when being overtaken. They can easily wobble, swerve to avoid potholes or drain covers, or be blown off course by strong winds and turbulence from passing vehicles. The Highway Code advises giving cyclists as much room as you would a car. While large vehicles like lorries require careful planning, cyclists are far more exposed and at risk of severe injury.
How this comes up in the real test
