When is it appropriate to use your vehicle's horn?

Why that is the answer

You should only use your vehicle's horn to warn other road users of your presence when there is potential danger. The Highway Code states that you must never use your horn aggressively, to show annoyance, greet friends, or demand right of way. Sounding the horn inappropriately can intimidate or startle others, causing panic and creating unnecessary hazards on the road.
