Why that is the answer
When a pavement is closed for repairs, pedestrians may be forced to walk in the road to get around the obstruction. You must stay extra vigilant and reduce your speed, as vulnerable road users could step into your path. Positioning close to the left kerb or speeding up would be dangerous. In line with Highway Code advice, always give pedestrians walking in the road plenty of room.
How this comes up in the real test
