# 2024/2025 Updates — free theory test practice

The Highway Code has changed materially in recent years, and the question bank has followed. The hierarchy of road users, the new priority for pedestrians waiting to cross at a junction, and the Dutch reach for opening doors are all now examinable.

## Common mistakes in this topic

-   Turning into a side road across a pedestrian who is waiting to cross
-   Treating a cyclist riding centrally as being in the wrong
-   Passing a cyclist within 1.5 metres at speeds above 30mph
-   Leaving charging cables trailing across a footway
