According to the Highway Code, you must not enter a yellow box unless your exit is clear. The only exception is when turning right; you may enter the box and wait if oncoming traffic or other right-turning vehicles prevent you from turning, provided your exit road is clear. If you are going straight or turning left, you must wait outside the box. ## How this comes up in the real test Questions from rules of the road appear throughout the 50-question multiple-choice section, and the wording changes between versions.
