# What could result in a crash if the level is too low?

DVSA-style practice question · Safety and your Vehicle

## The answer options

- Battery-water level
- Radiator-coolant level
- Anti-freeze level
- Brake-fluid level**Correct**

## Why that is the answer

If your brake-fluid level is too low, air can enter the braking system. This can lead to total brake failure or severely reduced stopping power, preventing you from stopping safely and potentially causing a crash. Low levels of radiator coolant, anti-freeze, or battery water can damage your engine or cause a breakdown, but they will not directly affect your ability to stop the vehicle. Regularly check all fluid levels as advised by DVSA safety guidance.

## How this comes up in the real test

Questions from safety and your vehicle appear throughout the 50-question multiple-choice section, and the wording changes between versions. Learn the rule rather than the sentence: the DVSA can ask the same point from the opposite direction, and a memorised answer falls over the moment the phrasing moves.

The pass mark is 43 out of 50, so seven wrong answers is your entire margin. If a whole category is shaky, run the topic practice below until you are getting every question right for the right reason, then go back to full mocks under the clock.

## Passed your theory? Get the practical booked

Your theory certificate lasts two years. Most learners who use it quickly do it with an intensive course — a block of hours with a DVSA approved instructor and a practical test at the end, instead of one lesson a week for months.
