Centre by centre — Burgess Hill: dense residential streets, bus lanes and multi-lane junctions. Bus lane timings and cycle lanes both feature; check the signage rather than following the car in front.. Chichester: national-speed-limit country lanes, single-track sections and small-town streets. Speed for the conditions, rather than the posted limit, is the theme of the whole drive.. Crawley: arterial roads, box junctions and parked-car navigation. Emerging from side roads with parked cars blocking the view is the recurring test of observation.. Lancing: fast rural a-road, slow-moving agricultural traffic and village high street. National-speed-limit single carriageways are near-certain — progress is marked as well as caution.. Worthing: market-town roads, roundabouts and edge-of-town dual carriageway.
